Strengths for Teams Accelerator Day
Move from individual awareness to collective performance and strategic delegation.
Most team assessment workshops stop at sharing Top 5 lists around a table. This session is built differently. In one day, we map your group's collective strengths, uncover blind spots, and translate your Team Strengths Grid into an operational framework for daily collaboration and task delegation. You will leave with a practical system for how your team actually gets work done together—not just a poster for the wall.
This session is built primarily for intact teams, executive cabinets, department leadership, or project units, who collaborate daily and need to optimize how they lead together. It is also highly effective for groups of managers who oversee direct reports and need to evaluate their department's overall talent footprint.
This session assumes participants already know their CliftonStrengths and have completed baseline individual strengths discovery, such as our CliftonStrengths for Individuals session. For teams new to strengths, this content can be expanded into a multi-session engagement or paired with the individual foundation.
Custom Team Strengths Grid and Domain Profile
A visual blueprint mapping your team's collective footprint across the four CliftonStrengths domains, Executing, Influencing, Relationship Building, Strategic Thinking.
Delegation and Collaboration Roadmap
A practical framework for assigning projects, handing off tasks, and structuring workflows based on natural talent rather than job titles alone.
Team Blind Spot and Risk Matrix
Clear identification of domain gaps, such as low Influencing or high Executing saturation, along with actionable strategies to mitigate team-wide blind spots.
Shared Working Agreements
Concrete team norms for communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution grounded in a shared strengths vocabulary.
What's unique about our approach
We treat the Team Strengths Grid as a living workflow tool, not an abstract personality chart. Grounded in positive psychology and research on team effectiveness, our approach rejects the idea that a single team must be perfectly balanced across all four domains. Instead, we focus on alignment: leveraging the domain concentrations you do have while strategically managing the gaps.
We replace passive lectures with tactile mapping, structured negotiation exercises, and optional physical modeling using LEGO® Serious Play®. Teams don't just talk about collaboration, they build and test real delegation scenarios in the room.

Structure of the Day
From individual strengths to stronger together.
1. Individual Strengths Baselines
The session opens by reviewing individual strengths baselines. Before diving into group dynamics, team members reconnect with how their individual talents contribute to the collective whole.
2. Team Strengths Grid
From there, we introduce the Team Strengths Grid. Guided by customized visual grids and our lead.forward Guidebooks, the team analyzes its distribution across Executing, Influencing, Relationship Building, and Strategic Thinking.
3. Working Lunch and Team Friction Points
Over a working lunch, we explore team friction points, examining how opposing domains interact and identifying where collective “basement” behaviors might be stalling progress.
4. Operational Alignment and Commitments
The afternoon turns directly to operational alignment and delegation. The team maps active organizational projects against their collective grid, identifying who is best equipped to lead specific phases of work. Where appropriate, we integrate LEGO® Serious Play® exercises to let participants physically model workflow connections, hand-offs, and communication barriers. The day concludes with concrete commitments: drafting a Delegation and Collaboration Roadmap and setting clear working agreements for future team projects.

FAQ
Does our team need individual strengths discovery before booking this session?
Yes. This session is designed as "Session 2" or a direct follow-up to CliftonStrengths for Individuals. If your team has not completed initial strengths discovery, we can easily pair both topics into a multi-part engagement or full-day experience.
Is this designed for intact teams or cross-functional groups?
It works best for intact teams who collaborate on real projects daily. However, it is also highly valuable for cohorts of people leaders who want to analyze direct report dynamics and take delegation frameworks back to their respective units.
Is LEGO® Serious Play® required for this session?
No. LEGO® Serious Play® is an optional, hands-on add-on integrated during the afternoon delegation block to help teams physically model workflows and task hand-offs. We will customize the format based on your goals.
What do we need to provide?
A functional meeting space set up for group interaction, along with access to a screen with audio. We handle all assessment collation, grid production, and facilitation materials.
What impacts the pricing of a CliftonStrengths for Teams Accelerator Day?
For CliftonStrengths for Teams Accelerator Days specifically, there is a $40 per person cost for assessment and materials. You can also incorporate LEGO®. Your group can opt to use and return our LEGO® components instead for no additional charge. You can also choose to keep your LEGO® bricks and models at cost. Individual window kit bags are $15 per participant; shared model boxes start at $100 per table. Materials like worksheets, folders, and other activities also cost per participant. So, an Accelerator Day with 100 participants will cost more than an Accelerator Day with 10 participants.
