Individual leader growth powered by peer connection.
Who you are shapes how you lead. Team dynamics and workflows call for collective work, and individual growth needs its own setting: a confidential “third” space where leaders can step back from daily demands, reflect on their core identity, and clarify who they want to be as leaders.
Schedule a Group Coaching ConversationUnlike Team Coaching, which treats an intact team as a single operational system, Group Coaching keeps the individual leader at the very center. By bringing leaders together in structured, confidential cohort settings, participants engage in deep self-reflection and peer coaching which fosters personal transformation that creates a powerful ripple effect across their entire organization.
Three Ways to Engage in Group Coaching
We offer Group Coaching in three settings:
Within a Department
Leaders from the same division or portfolio work on their individual goals together, building trust and alignment with the peers they work alongside every day.
Across an Organization
Leaders from different departments, such as finance, operations, and human resources, form a cross-functional cohort, which builds relationships and a shared leadership culture across units.
Open Cohorts
Individual leaders join peers from other organizations (with similar shared characteristics like position level or growth need), which gives them a neutral, confidential setting to work through leadership challenges.
Themed Cohorts
Group Coaching is not a generic management lecture. Each cohort is built around a developmental theme, so leaders can focus on mindset, self-awareness, and personal habits:
Leadership Identity & Vision
Grounded in positive psychology and Richard Boyatzis’s Intentional Change Theory, this cohort focuses on who a leader wants to be. Leaders define their ideal self, take an honest and compassionate look at their current self, identify what gets in their way, and build a personal learning agenda based on what motivates them.
Assessment-Based
Cohorts organized around an assessment such as the full CliftonStrengths® 34, LVI, or the Enneagram. Participants look at how their themes interact, how they respond under stress, and how to use their natural talents on purpose.
Supervisory Advancement
For managers moving from individual contributor to people leader. Participants practice coaching-based supervision, courageous conversations, and feedforward, and learn to manage tension with empathy and confidence.
How Each Cohort Runs
Each cohort follows a consistent rhythm so growth carries into daily work:
Monthly Sessions
Cohorts meet for 90-minute virtual sessions over about five months, with reflection prompts before each session and a peer partner conversation after it. Each participant also has a 45-minute one-on-one session with the coach at the start to set goals.
Live Spotlight Coaching
In each session, one or more participants receive coaching from the facilitator while the rest of the cohort observes with cameras and microphones off. The group then rejoins to share observations and themes that help the leader who was coached.
Peer Partnerships
Cohort members meet in pairs between sessions to practice listening, ask coaching questions, and hold each other accountable to their goals.
Who you are directly impacts how you lead. Group Coaching provides a confidential space to clarify your leadership vision, leverage your strengths, and grow alongside peer leaders.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is group coaching for leaders?
Group coaching brings leaders together in small, confidential cohorts of up to eight people. Each participant works on their own leadership goals while learning from peers, coaching one another, and holding each other accountable.
How is group coaching different from team coaching?
Group coaching focuses on each individual leader’s growth, even when cohort members work in the same organization. Team coaching focuses on how an intact team operates together.
How long does a group coaching cohort run?
Cohorts typically meet for 90-minute virtual sessions over about five months. Each participant also has a 45-minute one-on-one session with the coach at the start to set goals, and cohort members meet in peer partnerships between sessions.
Can leaders from different organizations join the same cohort?
Yes. In addition to cohorts within a department or across an organization, we offer open cohorts where individual leaders join peers from other organizations in a neutral, confidential setting.
What topics do group coaching cohorts focus on?
Cohorts are built around a theme, such as leadership identity and vision grounded in Intentional Change Theory, an assessment like the full CliftonStrengths® 34 or the Enneagram, or the move from individual contributor to people leader.
